Who is allowed to participate in the Daily Scrum?

The Daily Scrum is a key event in the Scrum framework where the Development Team synchronizes their activities and creates a plan for the next 24 hours. This meeting is specifically designed for the Development Team to inspect their progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt their plan accordingly.

Participation is limited to the Development Team members, ensuring that they have a focused time to discuss their work, potential impediments, and how to collaborate more effectively. This setting allows them to self-organize and communicate directly about their contributions without outside influence.

While other roles such as the Scrum Master and Product Owner may attend as listeners for better understanding or to support, their participation is not as participants in the planning directly. The focus must remain on the Development Team, making their insights and communication the sole priority during this event. Other stakeholder participation could disrupt the flow and purpose of the meeting, which is why they aren't part of the Daily Scrum gatherings.
